Former lead prosecutor for the Enron trial, which successfully prosecuted Enron executives Skilling and Lay, Mr. John Hueston, will be the featured speaker at the breakfast event on Tuesday, October 14, 2008 at Crow Canyon Country Club, 711 Silver Lake Drive, Danville, CA 94526.
Hueston, a key litigator at the law firm of Irell & Manella, has extensive jury trial experience, and has been selected to serve as lead trial counsel by Fortune 500 companies and by governments in a variety of cases, including shareholder class action cases, patent litigation cases, trademark infringement cases, environmental cases and cases alleging unfair business practices.
A full buffet breakfast is served starting at 7:00 am (Mass is offered at 6:30am at the same location.) Cost is $20 for members and $25 for non-members. To register visit

Listed as one of American Lawyer’s Fab 50 litigators, Hueston was selected in 2006 by Fortune Magazine as one of the 25 men and women who shaped the business world. California Lawyer magazine named Mr. Hueston a 2007 "California Attorney of the Year”.
Hueston will share behind-the-scenes stories of how power and responsibility were warped by the abandonment of values. He will talk about challenges that overcame people because of misplaced value, and about challenges that were overcome by people who embraced the values of their faith.
Commenting on what he felt was at the heart of the Enron scandal, Hueston said, “What began as a few creative interpretations of where the line is truly drawn for disclosure obligations and accounting rules, became a game of line jumping under the rationale that the rules were really made for those incapable of creating an enterprise like Enron.”
Hueston will also explain how a winning trial narrative is always premised on truth and a passion that flows from one's conscience and faith.
“This is a speaker no one who has any relationship with a business organization, be it a large corporation or a small company, should miss,” said Alison Yount, president of Catholics@Work. “John Hueston is guaranteed to enlighten our understanding of how to incorporate our values into the everyday workplace, and not fall prey to the desertion of those values.”
