BE PART OF THE BIG PICTURE: AERIAL ART PHOTO TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING!

WE NEED YOUR BODY! TELL CONGRESSIONAL CANDIDATES TO STOP GLOBAL WARMING! TAKE A STAND IN THE SAND!

Community members in South Florida will join Greenpeace and World-class aerial artist John Quigley for the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF ACTION ON GLOBAL WARMING on November 4th by using our bodies to create a giant aerial art image that highlights the threat of global warming. We’ll call on fellow voters to carefully consider candidates’ plans to deal with global warming when they go to the polls on Election Day 3 days later, and on the candidates to make clear their stance on global warming.

FREE BUSES, FREE REFRESHMENTS, AND FREE MUSIC!

BRING YOUR FRIENDS, YOUR CHILDREN AND YOUR GREAT-AUNT.

In addition to making an important statement on global warming, attending our event will be a fun day out for all the family. Check out http://www.floridastateparks.org/lloydbeach/Activities.cfm for more information on what you can get up to at John U Lloyd State Park.

ON GLOBAL WARMING

Global warming is of particular concern to voters in the area given the impact that global warming is having and will increasingly have on Florida. Florida is particularly vulnerable to rising sea levels, more frequent intense hurricanes, and coral reef degradation associated with global warming. Rising sea levels may also encroach on freshwater aquifers, and all of these impacts will lead to serious problems for our way of life.

Concerned community members will join hundreds of thousands of people around the world marking the start of further climate negotiations by urging officials to tackle global warming effectively. Further negotiations on the Framework Convention on Climate Change and the Kyoto Protocol begin on November 6 in Nairobi, Kenya.
