Doug Dearth of Dry Ridge Stone in Weaverville, NC, leads this 4-hour course which begins with classroom discussion about using stone to enhance the landscape and to solve many common landscape problems. He concludes with a walking tour of the Arboretum grounds to view and assess examples of various stone projects. Participants will learn several basic principles and techniques for using stone and brick for retaining and free-standing walls, pathways and steps, benches, erosion control, rockeries, theme gardens, defining landscape spaces, and many more useful ideas.
