Bluesweek is Saint Louis’ premier Blues celebration, drawing its credibility, significance and design from the most influential players and historians in the Blues Community.
The 10-day celebration begins with the Blues Society Cocktail Reception at the historic St. Louis Union Station Grand Hall and will kick off the week with complimentary cocktails and hors d'oeuvres.
The party continues on August 27-28, with the Saint Louis Bluesweek Festival on the steps of the historically significant Peabody Opera House (formerly the Kiel Opera House). Both days will feature specially designed shows to honor the wide range of musical styles that were born in St. Louis. Each show will be a compilation of the area’s most well-known and influential Blues musicians. A variety of St. Louis restaurants and tasty beverages will be available for purchase.
The event is free and open to all ages.
The following weekend (September 3 - 4) will be host to another unforgettable Blues party - the Soulard Blues Cruise, where patrons will can see 10 bands in 10 bars for $10 each night! Wristbands will be available for purchase at any of the venues, the night of the show.
In addition to these two all-weekend events, there will be an All-Star Blues Brunch, a Blues History Panel Discussion, Blues Workshops and the 1st Annual Blues Awards.
Celebrate Bluesweek August 26 thru September 5, and be a part of the historic significance that St. Louis and its musicians have had in the world of music!
