The Boston chapter of the National Organization for Men Against Sexism (NOMAS) will be hosting our second annual StitchFest. The plan is to knit a blanket that we can give to a local domestic violence shelter, Renewal House, as a show of support and appreciation for the work that they do.
When: 10am-8pm, Saturday Dec. 2nd
Where: Beacon Hill Friends House
6 Chestnut st. on Beacon Hill
This is a short walk from the Park st. T stop
Feel free to join us for the whole day or just stop in for an hour or two. We'll be making a whole lot of little 5x5 in. squares and sewing them together into one grand, colorful blanket. If you have yarn, needles, or other knitting supplies, feel free to bring them. We'll also have those things provided.
Food for the day will be potluck-style- if you can bring something, great- If not please come anyway. Also, we'll be collecting canned goods for the Renewal House food pantry, so feel free to bring some canned food as well.
What if I can't knit?
That's fine! This is the best chance you'll ever have to learn!! There'll be lots of teaching and skillsharing going on, as well as wonderful
conversation with great people, in a beautiful and comfortable space. We'll also be joined by our very special guest, Susan Criscione, the director of Renewal House, who will tell us all about what they do.
