Design & Style: Typography Sketchbooks Discussion
Notable graphic design historian Steven Heller and educator Lita Talarico, co-chairs of the MFA Design program at the School of Visual Arts and their guests Viktor Koen, Travis Cain, Matt Luckhurst, Esther K Smith + Dikko Faust (of Purgatory Pie Press), discuss the merits of the graphic designer's typography sketchbook, a creative "work-out" space for generating ideas and drafting unique type that becomes synonymous with brands and institutions around the world. An unrestrained and idiosyncratic collection, Typography Sketchbooks includes work by boundary-pushing designers from around the world. This event is a chance to talk type with type fans.
