State of the Audio Industry in Georgia August 27, 2009

This is our first run of what we hope to be at least an annual event, and will be covering Audio Post (Jeff Brugger and Greg Crawford), Business/Contracts and Foundations (Nikki Marshall), Industry Org’s (Michelle), Educational (Chris Davie and Rob Albertson), Gaming (Chris Rickwood), PR (Jen Farris), Independent Studios (Jamie Roop), and DJ’ing (DJ Kemit and Jesse Vogel). In order to accomplish this, we have Dan “The Man” Webber as our MC and timekeeper, and, if necessary bouncer – the format will be each topic will have a maximum of 10 minutes to sum up the following for their area:



· Quick Overview of the sector

· What is the (current) big news?

· What does the near future look like?



This is a great opportunity to take a look around locally and industry-wide and see what some of the trends are – are we ahead of the curve….behind the times? Are there any changes taking place that affect more than one of the above areas? Are there any new opportunities between areas that have not been previously explored? I know we’re missing a few key areas like live and church sound, but there’s always next time!
