New Conference on Startups aims to Grow the Entrepreneurial Community in Los Angeles.
---------------------------------
Entrepreneurship communities seem to be heavily centered in areas such as the Silicon Valley, Boston, and the Bay Area, but one annual conference plans to change all that.
StartupLA is a new conference committed to forming a stronger network that will bring the Los Angeles entrepreneurial community to the next level. Different that other conferences for entrepreneurs, students, and investors, StartupLA is one that is structured yet free flowing, blending scheduled speakers and presentations with open topics that guests can sign-up for the day of the event.
“By mixing a scheduled format with an ‘un-conference’ format, we represent what entrepreneurship is all about: planning . . . and flying by the seat of your pants,” says Adoree Durayappah, one of the founders of StartupLA.
Attendees can listen to scheduled panel topics, present at an open session, enter the fast pitch competition, or just come to network.
The first annual event is scheduled for Friday, October 26th from 1pm-6:30pm and Saturday, October 27th from 9am- 4pm (with opportunities to network during a cocktail reception each evening) at UCLA Anderson School of Management. More information on the event can be found at www.StartupLAevent.com.
