Astronomers have been pointing telescopes skyward for 400 years, enlarging our cosmic perspective literally billions of times over. And while the media bombard us with views from the glass giants of Palomar and Mauna Kea, you can see every kind of cosmic target - from Saturn's rings to faraway galaxies - with telescopes costing just $100. That is, if you know what to buy and where to look! In this three-hour workshop, we'll cover everything from the basics of constellation-finding to the finer points of buying and using telescopes. Weather permitting, we'll alternate between indoor activities and outdoor stargazing.so dress warmly, ideally in layers. The course will meet regardless of weather conditions. Children ages 12 and above are welcome with an accompanying adult. Registration is required. Call 617-489-5050 for details.
