On Friday and Saturday, January 1st and 2nd, at 8 p.m., award-winning author and actor Doug Motel visits The Rosendale Theatre to entertain and inspire audiences with his one man show StarDUST [Adventures in Consciousness].

Best selling author Marianne Williamson said, "Doug Motel makes 'conscious comedy'. He makes me laugh and he makes me think." The New York Post said; "Doug Motel, like Lily Tomlin, is one of those rare comedians who creates and seemingly becomes totally original characters." Rosendale Theatre owner Michael Cacchio says, "Doug Motel's progressive and cutting-edge one man show is a perfect fit for the theater in light of the new live shows that we are doing."

In "StarDUST", Mr. Motel weaves personal adventures, discoveries in quantum physics and eye-witness accounts of pivotal moments in recent American history into an evening of entertainment that has been leaving audiences enlivened and filled with hope for our future.

Doug Motel (www.DougMotel.com) is an award winning playwright, storyteller, actor, speaker and coach. He is author of several critically acclaimed one man shows including MICK IN AMERICA, MIND SALAD (L.A. Weekly award nomination for writing and performing), SHIVA ARMS (winner of the L.A. Weekly award for Best Solo Performance and winner of Theatre LA Ovation award for Best Writing of a World Premier play), and PRAESTIGUM.

The Rosendale Theatre, one of the few single-screen cinemas left in the country is also quickly gaining re-known as a venue for top-notch performing arts. Built circa 1905 and originally called Rosendale Casino, the red brick and wood structure once served as the Rosendale firehouse. For the last 60 years, the theatre has been owned and operated by three generations of the Cacchio family. With a 270 seat capacity, the room is big enough to generate a lot of energy, yet small enough to hold an intimate performance.

The Canaltown Alley Arts and Learning Center hosts a rich variety of classes in all kinds of arts, as well as serving as a meeting place for local organizations. Founder Ann Citron says, "Doug Motel's upcoming one man show is another fabulous opportunity for locals, friends and visitors to experience unique and absolutely original live theatre."

Tickets to StarDUST are $15. Performance time is 8:00 PM. StarDUST's running time is approximately 80 minutes without an intermission. Not suitable for children under 13 years of age.
