Stanley Park, the jewel of Vancouver, is a 400-hectare (1000 acre) park immediately adjacent to Vancouver’s downtown core. On the night of December 15, 2006, Stanley Park was heavily damaged by a cyclone force storm that brought down thousands of trees.
The Spirit Wrestler Gallery is pleased to be hosting a unique fundraising exhibition with the proceeds from the sale of these works to be donated to the park, supporting the renewal of Stanley Park, the Coast Salish public art piece for Brockton Point, and the future aboriginal interpretive elements for Stanley Park.
We have invited some of Vancouver's top chefs to create dishes with the spirit of Stanley Park theme for the fundraiser this Saturday, September 8th. We would like to thank Bishop's, The Irish Heather, Tojo's and Vij's for participating as well as Roger's Chocolates for their support.
We invite you to join us here at the gallery to view the fundraiser exhibition and meet with Coast Salish artist Susan A. Point.
Artist in attendance at 1pm. See website for further details and photos.
