About Mario Joyner:
A versatile and energetic performer with an appealing smile, Mario Joyner sends an audience rolling the aisles with his uncanny ability to create verbal chaos out of everyday situations.
Joyner is originally from Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, from a family of seven brothers and sisters, and is the son of a preacher who is the only man who could make a Jehovah's Witness say, "I think we have to go." Joyner now makes his home in Santa Monica, California, which is a quaint little enclave where homeless people and interracial couples go to live in peace.
Joyner was formerly the host of MTV's 1/2 Hour Comedy Hour. He has appeared many times on the Late Show with David Letterman, Showtime's Aspen Rooftop Comedy Festival, as well as his own One Night Stand special on HBO.
Joyner has been the opening act for numerous tours and concerts, Chris Rock: Kill the Messenger - London, New York, Johannesburg and Jerry Seinfeld's nationwide tour.
Joyner made his film/acting debut as a cab driver with passengers Ted Danson, Steve Guttenberg, and Tom Selleck in Touchstone Pictures' smash hit, 3 Men and a Baby. He starred as Tom in Hangin' with the Homeboys from New Line Cinema. He appeared in Down to Earth and the cult classic, Pootie Tang, with the famous quote, "Sine your pitty on the runny kine!" He was also in various episodes of Everybody Hates Chris and The Chris Rock Show. He can be seen in the motion picture, Bucky Larson: Born to Be a Star.
