Olde Town Arvada Inspires Irish Spirit at 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival
Green will be in the air on Saturday, March 16 as The Historic Olde Town Arvada Association puts on their 2nd Annual St. Patrick’s Day Festival. The day will start at noon and last until 6 p.m., with live music, beer, wine, food, family fun and plenty of shopping options from street vendors. Last year’s festival brought over 4,000 people into the streets of Olde Town, and citizens have already started inquiring about this year’s event. Drienka, The Gromet, and The Duke Street Kings will be returning to fill the streets with great music, and will be joined by new addition Wild Love Tigress.
“St. Patrick’s Day is truly a day of fun that is celebrated across the country. Our event allows people to enjoy the parade in downtown Denver, and then spend the day with great music and a festive atmosphere on the streets of Olde Town Arvada,” states event coordinator Adam Mueller. In the mood of the holiday, an “Irish Spirit Contest” will encourage festival-goers to dress in their Irish best. Pictures will be taken and posted to Facebook, and online voters will determine the most prize-worthy entries. The contest provides an extra incentive to enjoy the day in full Irish attire and attitude.
Historic Olde Town Arvada will be closing down Grandview Avenue, just east of Olde Wadsworth Boulevard, for the St. Patrick’s Day Festival. The event area will be gated off to ensure a fun, safe, and relaxed festival. Entry is free of cost and all are invited to come. Tickets to purchase drinks will be sold at locations within the event area. Parking is free, with the best spots available in the long-term parking lots near the Jefferson County Library and the historic Flour Mill.
