St. Matthew’s Church in Liverpool will be “Open for Prayer” the first Wednesday of each month from 6:30pm to 9pm. (Oct 7th, Nov 4th, Dec 2nd...)
All are welcome to gather in the church where you can find, candlelight, prayer beads, reading material and foremost - God.
The church will be open for individual prayer time (no organized service) to allow for reflection, mediation and an opportunity to listen and be with God.
Evening Prayer and Compline will be offered in the Library for those who wish to join.
My religious background was as a Roman Catholic. I learned about God during those years. Since that time I have longed to get to know God better, to rediscover him in new ways. Since joining the Episcopal tradition and the St. Matthew’s community I have been blessed to have been shown that we do not simply speak to God in our Sunday worship or personal prayers but that God speaks to us. God answers us. God guides us and most of all --God is in our midst. For me St. Matthew’s is a safe place to recharge and gather strength to go out everyday and to work to be the passionate presence of Christ in my day to day life. Gathering once a month for this special time is the gift I am hoping to give myself as I continue my faith journey in this time and place in my life. -- Stacey Balduf
