St. Joseph serves Thanksgiving dinner: Elgin's annual Thanksgiving Day dinner for those in need, alone or homebound again is sponsored by St. Joseph Catholic Church. Organizers are looking for community members to participate as well as donate food and money. Meals will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. in the school cafeteria, 274 Division St., Elgin. Tickets may be picked up at the parish office. Last year, about 1,000 meals were served, according to coordinator Sharon McGill. Homebound individuals who would like their meals delivered should call McGill at (847) 888-2183. Monetary donations may be made payable to St. Joseph Church/Thanksgiving Dinner, 272 Division St., Elgin, IL 60120. To volunteer, contact Leo or Tina after 5 p.m. at (847) 697-7616.
