Join us at the North Museum of Natural History & Science to kick off our new spring reptile series, SSSSlithering SSSSaturdays. Partnered with the North Museum’s current temporary exhibition, Snakes, Rattles and Holes, this monthly series will feature hands-on reptile activities, exceptional speakers, and reptile guests. All SSSSlithering SSSSaturday activities are included in Museum admission. The first SSSSlithering SSSSaturday (February 16) will spotlight the following presentations:
What is a Reptile? (11:30 a.m.) Presented by Jill Showalter, Senior Educator for the North Museum, visitors will learn how reptiles differ from other animals, examine turtle shells, snake skins and other reptile specimens, and meet the North Museum’s live animal collection.
Shaping up with Reptiles (1:30 and 3:00 p.m.) Round, long, squat or thin; soft, hard, fat or slim….so many shapes, so little time! Guided by Mike Miklos, visitors will explore the variety of reptile body plans and examine the importance of body shape to species survival.
The North Museum of Natural History & Science is located at 400 College Avenue in Lancaster. Admission to the Museum is $7.00 for adults, and $6.00 for juniors (ages 3-17) and seniors (65 and over).
