Squeaky Wheel's Sixth Annual Outdoor Animation Festival is a FREE! and family-oriented outdoor screening program to be held on Saturday, July 25th in Days Park at dusk (around 8:30pm). The screening will present an eclectic mix of animated shorts by various local and international filmmakers that showcase a range of animation processes from lo-tech to cutting edge.

Selected artists include “Sorry I’m Late!” a magical and wildly creative pixilation film by London artist Tomas Mankovsky (Blink Productions), “Simon’s Cat,” a sarcastic celebration of the joys and annoyances of cat ownership by London animation artist Simon Tofield (Tandem Films), “Godzilla Hey!” by Ithaca artists Megan Roberts-Ghirardo and Raymond Ghirardo featuring a dancing stop-animation Godzilla figure, and the award-winning short “I Met the Walrus” by Josh Raskin, which is based on and uses the original audio from an interview of John Lennon by 14-year-old Jerry Levitan in 1969, and many, many more! Local animation artists include a fantastical rambling animation by the infamous paste-up queen Brezo, UB Dept. of Media Study graduate student Mascha_scha, and SUNY Fredonia alumni Lisa Brotz.

Pack a late-night picnic and enjoy a free night of family fun under the stars!

In case of rain, the screening will be held at Squeaky Wheel's Micro-cinema (712 main street buffalo).

Squeaky Wheel is also planning to hold an encore screening on September 11th, 2009 at dusk in the parking lot next to Squeaky Wheel during Curtain Up! 2009.
