Springing Sprouts Family Volunteer Day April 28, 2012

Introduce the entire family to gardening through hands-on activities and volunteering in the Nature Center's learning garden. Guided by student interns (from our local colleges), families will prepare soil, plant seeds and learn the many types of plants that can be grown for food at home. Not only will you help start the vegetable garden at the Nature Center but you will also take home planted seeds to begin your own family garden and even a worm bin to start composting! Specially designed to engage toddlers and preschoolers as part of the First 5 Our Day Outside series, but open to families with children of all ages. This is a free program thanks to First 5 partnership.
