Join 30+ local restaurants as we celebrate Richmond for being what it is--a great food town. Each time you go out to dinner at participating restaurants during Restaurant Week, you are contributing to the local economy and helping eliminate area hunger through our partnership with FeedMore.
For those of you who don't know:
Richmond Restaurant Week was founded by Acacia's very own Aline Reitzer when she found herself inundated with donation requests. Modeled after Restaurant Weeks in New York and other cities, Aline founded Richmond Restaurant Week to include a charity component. The Central Virginia Food Bank and Meals on Wheels were a natural partner from the beginning because their interest in food aligns closely with the restaurant industry.
Area Chefs create a three-course price fixed menu following some basic guidelines and offer it up all week for $25.12 per person. On top of that dining deal, the restaurants take $2.12 from each meal and donate that money to FeedMore. Last October alone the event raised over $25,000. That money provides hundreds of thousands of meals for the hungry.
