Check-in is at 9:15am; programs begin promptly at 9:30am and conclude by noon for lunch on your own. Admission is for the entire day, so feel free to explore the Park on your own after the programs! Each student will participate in all three 45-minute programs -- as long as they arrive on time. The Ramble on Mammals---Many types of mammals call the Southern US and Western North Carolina home. We know mammals are furry, but what other characteristics do they have? This fun program will discuss mammal traits and various habitats and even address some unwarranted bad raps! Tracks and Traces Hike--From scat to tracks, animals leave us plenty of clues that they are around. Although we don't always see them, we know our neighbors are near! Join your guide for a hike around the Great Woodland Adventure (0.6 mile) to search for evidence right beneath your nose. The Art of Trees --Just like people, trees come in different shapes and sizes. Join local artist Nora Mosrie to discuss different native trees and their places in our landscape. Use your own observations and creativity to compose your own drawing to take home.
