May 5, 11:30 am to 1:15 pm
Our featured speaker, Sister Madonna Buder - also known as the "Iron Nun" - will tell her inspiring story. Sister Madonna is an 80 year-old currently competing marathon runner and triathlete. She has also recently released a new book called "The Grace to Race - Wisdom and Inspiration of the 80 year-old World Champion Triathlete known as The Iron Nun".
The luncheon will be emceed by John Curley.
Funds raised at the luncheon will used to support the residents and programs of Providence Marianwood, a nonprofit skilled nursing and rehabilitation care facility in Issaquah. Marianwood provides care for many elderly residents who have outlived their financial resources and depend on the generosity of others to help cover the cost of their care.
During the Spring Celebration Luncheon, guests will be invited to help us weave a web of support for our elderly residents by giving generously (suggested donation $150). Guests giving $250 or more at the luncheon will receive a copy of "The Grace to Race" signed by Sister Madonna.
Providence Marianwood is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year and the luncheon will be a very special time of celebration, sharing and inspiration.
