Las Cruces, NM –Branigan Cultural Center announces two – one day camps during Spring Break. Based on the permanent exhibit Las Cruces: Crossroads of History, the camps are designed to encourage youth to explore local history. The first session on Wednesday, March 24, 2010 is open to students in 1st – 3rd grades. The second session is Friday, March 26 and is designed for students in 4th – 7th grades.
Each session begins at 9:00 a.m. and ends at 4:00 p.m. The activities will occur in the history gallery, and will include, crafts, games, and a hands-on archeology dig. Snacks and a sack lunch are provided. Space in the day camp is limited and pre-registration is required. Registration begins February 16, 2010. There is a $10.00 per student fee due at the time of registration.
The Branigan Cultural Center, 501 N. Main Street, is located at the north end of the downtown mall in Las Cruces. The exhibits are free and open to the public.
