Spring Awakening
Based on Frank Wedekind's controversial 1891 play, Spring Awakening is a rock musical about the dawning of sexual awareness during puberty and the dangers of censoring curiosity at too young an age. Winner of eight Tony Awards and four Drama Desk Awards in 2007, the show juxtaposes contemporary music with period text to echo the frustrations of teenagers from every generation.
