Ahoy mateys! Walk the plank to the Inner Harbor for a ghoulishly good time at the Maryland Science Center’s annual family Halloween costume party – Spooky Science, Saturday October 30, 2010 from 12 – 4 p.m.

Inspired by the Maryland Science Center’s new exhibition, SHIPWRECK! Pirates & Treasure, Spooky Science offers a bounty of freaky family fun including:

- Pirates for Sail – the eight-man group of melodic mariners perform scurvy shanties and briny ballads on stage throughout the day

- Swashbuckling swordplay – the members of the Lyon Wolves troupe offer an interactive and entertaining lesson in sword-fighting where families choose their weapons and join in the fray

- Creepy crafts – little pirates can make and take their own raven or parrot puppet companion, or decorate a plunder-worthy pumpkin

- Eerie experiments - mad scientists take over the Demonstration Stage for some hair-raising science

All Spooky Science activities are free with paid admission to the Maryland Science Center. The Maryland Science Center is located at 601 Light Street at Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. For information and tickets, visit www.marylandsciencecenter.org or call the 24-Hour Information Line at 410-685-5225.
