Rogue Video and Performance Presents
“Speculation and Spectacle”
Art Video Screening
Thursday, May 3rd 2012 from 7:30pm to 9:30pm
Williamsburg, Brooklyn, near 240 Meeker Ave

Curators Elisabeth Murray and Jonathan Brantley in collaboration with Rogue Video and Performance will be projecting video art out-of-doors in the Williamsburg neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. This event will take place on Thursday May 3rd from 7:30pm to 9:30pm in the area on the underpass of the Brooklyn-Queens Expressway (I-287) by 240 Meeker Ave and Father Giorgio Triangle in Williamsburg. The exhibition is a discourse on gentrification, a multi-faceted issue that can transform and transition a city into a place of speculation and spectacle, and holds many different meanings depending on the stakeholder.

Participating artists include; Alexandria Ben-Abba, Aaron Bowles, Alice Bradshaw, Fiora Bradwell, Jorge Catoni, Russell Chartier, Javier Chozas, Artemisa Clark, Jian Cui, Mike Estabrook, Samantha Hookway, Amy Jenkins, Jones and Roa, Jason Mitcham, Marco Pareja, Mia Pfeifer, Megha Rajguru, Kat Schneck, Jessie Scott and John Wetterau.

Rogue Video and Performance was founded by Jeanne Brasile in 2006 to free curators and artists from the confines of the traditional gallery space and to connect the public at large with art in unexpected places. To date, Rogue has curated events and video screenings for the SITE Festival in Brooklyn, Newark Open Doors, JC Fridays in Jersey City and the Paterson Art Walk in Paterson, New Jersey. Rogue continues to independently curate exhibitions in non-traditional spaces and has recently begun to mentor aspiring curators who wish to develop exhibitions for alternative spaces.
