What if your beloved family couldn't afford to feed or care for you anymore and abandoned you? What if shelters were full and you had to be left on the streets to fend for yourself? What happens to you when unscrupulous people pick you up and throw you in a ring to fight for your lives with other creatures just as scared and frightened?

You see it every day....animals lying dead on the roadside....you turn on the TV and see pictures of animals abused beyond belief....you read about it every day in the papers...rescue shelters struggling to feed these abandoned creatures who's only crime is to be alive during a struggling economy. You've seen it all and unless you're completely heartless it's torn at your heart and you've said out loud....”Somebody needs to do something!” Maybe you can't do something big because of your own circumstances but everyone can do something, even something that you might consider insignificant when you look at the whole picture.

Sunday, April 11th, Decades in Spartanburg is opening it's doors and hearts from 2PM-Midnight and allowing us to host a Sparkle City Blues Jam to benefit Alive and Well Animal Rescue. All you need to do is show up with your instrument, plug in and jam the blues. Don't play? Then just come down, have a meal, a beverage, buy a raffle ticket....a percentage of Decades profits during the Blues Jam and all the raffle ticket sales goes to Alive and Well Animal Rescue. You can bring a bag of dog food, a bag of dog treats, some safe toys....we'll have bins located at the entrance. It's flea and tick season and every dollar you contribute helps them get the necessary treatment for their furry creatures to prevent an epidemic of sickness in the shelter.

The Sparkle City Blues Jams have raised over $3600 for people needing help....now let's help those who don't have a voice to ask to please save them....and that's not so insignificant is it?

The backline for musicians will be provided. All you, as a musician, need to do is show up with your instrument, drumsticks, harp, etc.....you sign in and you get to jam with some of the best musicians out there. We've had Rickey Godfrey, Big Tez Sherard, Chocolate Thunder, J Edwards, Freddie Vanderford, Brandon Turner, Taylor Moore, Shane Pruitt, Red Dog Towery, Johnny V., Jimmy Timms, Sean Cronin, Wolfman Grant, Tad Taylor, Rich Proctor, Marti B., Peggy Ratusz, Shirley Brown, Michael Blythe, Lonesome Doug, Gary Stevens, Jody Scott, Gary Segal, Cliff Elkins, Randy Simpson, Joe and Erin Bates, Tom Smith, Adam Devol, Brian Mickle, Chance Gardner, JJ Gueriri, Lee Sinclair, Sam Sprinkles, Juke Joint Johnny show up to jam and the list goes on and on.

Mark your calendar....be there...either as a jammer or a fan.....make a difference for our furry, feathered, scaly friends. You'll sleep better and feel better knowing you did!
