Spanish Bilingual Assistant July 30, 2011

The Spanish Bilingual Assistance Course includes sixty four hours of instruction, as well as homework assignments. This class is an introduction to medical interpreting for people who speak English and Spanish. Students who take this class apply what they learn by providing bilingual service in healthcare settings. Some students work on learning English/Spanish medical interpreting in the consecutive mode. Others work on improving their bilingual skills so they can do their job in two languages. After successfully passing written and oral exams, students receive a certificate of completion.

The pre-class bilingual assistant evaluations are 30 minute appointments. The pre-class assessment is free. Once tested, you will be notified if you can register for the Spanish Bilingual Assistant course. The class is $450. CHW employees are eligible for a 50% discount upon request.
