The Embassy of Spain, the Consulate General of Spain in New York and the Spain-USA Foundation announces SPAIN RED, a cultural professional networking site, with a launch party on November 4, 2011at 7:30pm at the New Museum, 235 Bowery at Prince Street, NYC. The launch party will include a presentation of the digital platform through projection and video, as well as live music by Barcelona resident DJ Pablo Sanchez (lovemonk records/GAMM) and a cocktail reception featuring tapas, Spanish wine, Brugal Rum and Rosita, the “Artisanal” beer of Spain.

SPAIN RED (www.spainred.org) is a cultural professional networking site, created by the Spain-USA Foundation (www.spainculture.us) and developed by the digital consulting firm The Line Between (www.thelinetbwn.com). SPAINRED.ORG is a professional digital network that connects Spaniards working in the cultural and creative fields in the US (including visual artists, playwrights, architects, designers, musicians, writers, filmmakers, producers, distributors, editors, managers, curators, researchers, etc.). The platform is also open to locals willing to explore professional opportunities with Spain Arts and Culture in the US.
The SPAIN RED network aims to spark communication among cultural professionals in the US and enhance the development of new synergies in collaborative projects, encouraging its members to share and connect making great ideas see the light of day. The site also functions as a social network, a digital cultural archive and a dynamic database.
SPAIN RED is produced by The Spain-USA Foundation (www.spainculture.us), a local, non-profit organization 501 (c)(3). Its aim is to promote Spanish arts and culture in the United States while at the same time building bridges between the two nations. Through its partnership with the Cultural Office at the Embassy of Spain in Washington, D.C., the Foundation has brought dozens of Spanish artists, architects, designers, music bands and exhibitions to the US. In its honorary steering committee, the Foundation includes personalities such as actor Antonio Banderas, famous chef José Andrés, and award-winning architect Santiago Calatrava. The Foundation is constantly looking for partners to promote Spanish culture in the US.
