Spaghetti Dinner and the play "Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming" April 17, 2010

Rutherford Community Theatre will present the play SMOKE ON THE MOUNTAIN HOMECOMING. Friday, April 16 (7:30 PM),Saturday, April 17 (7:30 PM),and Sunday, April 18 (2:30 PM) at Union Mills Learning Center Auditorium. (A Sanders Family Saga)
It’s October, 1945. The war is over and America’s years of prosperity are just beginning. But there’s another kind of rite of passage at the Mount Pleasant Baptist Church, where the Reverend Mervin Oglethorpe is giving his last service. Having been called to preach in Texas, he’s already bought a 10-gallon hat and is preparing to ride into the sunset with his wife June, who is eight months pregnant. Tomorrow morning, June’s brother Dennis will take over as the congregation’s pastor. Before they go their separate ways, the Sanders Family gathers together to share stories of faith and family in the Rutherford Community Theatre's production of Smoke on the Mountain Homecoming. The third installment in the Sanders series. Join the Sanders Family as they send Mervin and June off in style, with hilarious and touching stories and 25 fabulous Bluegrass Gospel favorites. Group tickets (6 or more) are $6.00/person (all ages). Reserved tickets are $10.00 adults and $8.00 seniors and children; with door prices being $12.00 and $10.00. (Seniors are 65 and over, children are 18 and under.)

The Union Mills Learning Center will be serving a spaghetti dinner (salad, roll, spaghetti, drink, and dessert) for $6 adults and $4 children under twelve beginning at 6 PM and continuing until 7:15 PM.
