It is not too late to become an artist! A limited number of spaces are available for summer art classes at the Las Cruces Museum of Art. Classes begin the week of June 1 and run through July 24. Classes for young artists will include a variety of experiences with drawing and painting, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, and even Mythological Art. Morning and afternoon classes are scheduled in one-week increments, beginning the week of June 1-5 and ending the week of July 27 – 31. No classes will be held the week of June 29 – July 3. Classes meet according to age, with sessions for those 5-8 or 8-12.
The classes for teens, ages 13 – 15, offered this summer are sculpture, ceramics, and digital photography and filmmaking.
The classes offered for adults are drawing, watercolor, classical oil painting, beginning oil painting, digital photography (introductory or intermediate/ advanced), Photoshop, ceramics (beginners or intermediate/ advanced) and weaving. Classes are designed for all levels of adults who would like to build skills, learn techniques and explore the creative process. Adult art classes begin the week of June 1 and end July 24.
