Sovereign Sect began out of a desire to create a Midwest electronic music collective by DJ Baktatr (Chris Patano) and drummer Seth Holden in late 2007. The Sect has since transformed itself from a concept to a versatile live performance and touring act. Combining standard rock instrumentation with state-of-the-art electronics, including turntables and over a decade of electronic music experience, the quintet creates a sound that is uniquely Sovereign Sect. They are especially well known in their hometown of Fargo, ND for throwing all-night raves.
