"Southend Celebrates" Armed Forces Day June 25, 2011

Southend will be staging an Armed Forces event over the weekend of Saturday 25th & Sunday 26th June 2011.
Saturday will be a military fair staged in Chalkwell Park, including displays from Veterans, Armed Forces and Cadets Associations, Military Vehicles, Southend Radio Music Roadshow, Survival of the Fittest Challenge run by Essex Boot Camp, Childrens art activities, Veterans Badge presentations and afternoon Tea Dance.
On Sunday, the event will take place on the new "Ciity Beach" area of Southend Seafront, involving a parade of armed forces, veterans and cadets followed by an open air service. Also stalls from local Veterans Associations and Armed Forces, Climbing Wall and lots more!
Over the weekend, local cadets will be collecting for Help for Heroes and local Veterans Associations so please give generously to support these worthy causes.
