Tchaikovsky International Piano Competition winner Barry Douglas joins the South Florida Symphony. With "the sensitivity of a poet and the fingers of a magician," Douglas will draw you in to opener Brahm's Piano Concerto No. 2, a broad and dramatic symphony in disguise. Next, the Symphony pays reverence to one of the crowning glories of English orchestral music, Vaughan Williams' Fantasia on a Theme by Thomas Tallis, a melodious travel through time bridging the Tudors and the modern Edwardians. Closing the evening is Khachaturian's Masquerade Suite, an evocative score to the Lermontov tragic tale that traces a lost bracelet.
Tickets for the South Florida Symphony Orchestra's Master Concert Series individual shows are priced from $25 to $60. Full season ticket subscriptions will receive a 10% discount.
