SOUR BRIDGES was built in 2009 by musicians Bill Pucci (Big Dog), Dalton Chamblee (Little Britches), Jackson Ellis III (Jack Bridges), and Travis Larrew (Freddie Neptune). The boys met while residing in the East-side neighborhoods of Austin, Texas in search to find fellow outlaws to riff and ramble with on the streets of the legendary Live Music Capital of The World. Lead vocalist and guitarist Big Dog, bassist Jack, and mandolin specialist Freddie, were the first to unite their talents after spending many o’nights strumin’ on tree stumps for new friends and good strangers.
The trio discovered Little Britches knack for keepin’ time and the band name “Sour Bridges” around a campfire off the Guadalupe River. With a bottle of sour mash in the woods, Jack told Big Dog not to “sour his britches!” while they fished Jack’s keys from a cracked window of his locked truck. And well, the rest is history…
With Folk-Americana influences like “The Byrds” and “Traveling Wilbury’s,” Sour Bridges add a “woodsy” feel to their music with smoking banjo runs and tasty mandolin riffs laced throughout their music. Big Dog’s leg kicks, the quartet’s silky smooth vocal harmonies, and Jack’s narrations create an energetic and interactive live show. From special events and weddings to impromptu bar parking lots, these ol’ boys will howl at you until the corn turns brown
