Event celebrates the music of Brazil, featuring classic Brazilian Funk and Soul
Premiere Brazilian Soul party in Indianapolis, featuring DJ. Kyle Long presenting a mix of Brazilian rhythms. First Friday, August 7th, 10pm to 2am, at Art Box, 217 W. 10th Street (corner of Senate), Indianapolis, IN, 46202. Admission $8 at the door.
As James Brown, Stevie Wonder and Marvin Gaye were pioneering new sounds in American Soul music a similar movement was occurring in Brazil with artists like Jorge Ben, Tim Maia, Wilson Simonal and others. The Brazilian Soul sound continues to be popular today among artists such as Seu Jorge, Ed Motta, Paula Lima, Ivo Meirelles and others.
This will be the official IDADA First Friday After Party event. A portion of the proceeds will be donated to IDADA.
