SOU Percussion Ensemble - The Music of Mark Applebaum March 12, 2013

In the capstone event of Applebaum’s SOU residency, the Southern Oregon University Percussion Ensemble, directed by Terry Longshore, will present a concert of Applebaum’s music, including the world premiere of "30" for percussion ensemble. Applebaum is a prolific composer of percussion music, having written solos, duos, trios, chamber ensembles, and now a large-scale work for 12 percussionists. His percussion music, like all of his work, brings together a diverse canvas of musical styles and techniques, pushing the performers and audience alike to extend their definition of “exotic”.
