Sopchoppy’s Eclectic Music & Art Forum~~”The Frog and The Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse” is Hosting a Special Artists showcase.


Salli Squitieri and Gabriel Butterfield proprietors of Sopchoppy’s award winning Eclectic Music & Art forum will showcase a different artist each month in a special art show.

The First Art Show is scheduled for Saturday June 18th 2011 and will be featuring Lori Volano (Sopchoppy River Art, found wood designed into sculptures and art pieces), Kim Campbell (Haute Art Fused Glass Jewelry and Home Décor) and Constance Mele (Concreations Garden Art and Home Décor)

Artist Lori Volano CTACC; (certified training alliance certified coach) and creator of “Sopchoppy River Art” gathers unique pieces of wood found along the Sopchoppy River and deigns them into intriguing sculptures and table top pieces. These conversational pieces take on the imagery of birds, turtles, angels, dancers and other illusions and often incorporate healing stones and other whimsical objects. Additionally, Lori designs and creates recycled art, walking sticks and other art pieces. Her art is very primal and each piece holds a refined and yet earthy and spiritual element. Her work defines her love for nature and reflects her affinity to our region.

Artist Kim Campbell of Crawfordville Florida creates fused glass artwork that is heated to 1440 - 1500 degrees in a kiln and then fired again (slumping) to a mold to create a form (plate, vase, etc.). Kim is a graphic designer by trade and started fusing glass in 2003 when she took a class at the Florida State University Art Center. In 2006 after three years of classes she obtained her own 220 Watt Jen Ken kiln and began working with her favorite glass--System 96, as it is a softer glass that melts faster at a lower temperature. Kim designs exquisite wall hangings, mobiles and chimes, plates, coffee table pieces and an eye catching line of jewelry and much more. Her work has a fluid movement to it, brilliant in color and design.

Artist Constance Mele of Concreations (experienced in gardening, landscaping and nursery work) designs unique garden art and home décor from concrete and plants. Each unique Concreation is cast from an actual leaf that Constance has collected and they are cast in high-strength concrete, hand painted, and sealed with polyurethane. They make beautiful garden art, birdbaths, indoor sculptures, and stepping stones. By Salli’s request Constance is customizing some of her creations as soap dishes to be sold with The Frog and The Hummingbird Co’s special line of organic hand sculpted soaps. Each piece captures the life and texture of the plant and vividly colored.

The Art Show will take place from 5 to 10 PM and is a great way to meet the artists in person and learn the process involved in making their works of Art. Each artist will provide a piece of their work that will be part of a free door prize drawing and likewise the proprietors of “The Frog and The Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse” will also be providing prizes that will be used for free door prize drawings that night.

Salli and Gabriel will be offering a 10% discount on Same Night purchases at their store as their way of saying thank you for attending and in addition to doing free door prize drawings the evening will include complimentary beverages and Hors d’oeuvres.



The Art Show will include free live music and tips are encouraged for performer.

This is a free event…a night of art, music, food, prizes, discounts and networking.

The Frog and the Hummingbird Co & Butterfield’s Roadhouse is an official drop off site for non-perishable food items for our local food bank, for pet needs for CHAT and for used eye glasses for the Lion’s Club. Salli and Gabe encourage everyone to bring their donations anytime.
