SLICNATON (Raleigh NC) is Nicholas Slatons' electronic improvisations and electro-acoustic compositions. The results are steeped in drone and noise but with detailed motifs which interact with each other, moving in and out of the sound-stage. Slaton's no-input mixing coaxes diverse and sometimes bizarre sounds from pedals and samplers alike, leaving the listener intrigued, searching for the source of the music. The music expands to include a cadre of wind and string arrangements.
