Manhattan Movement & Arts Center announces a new partnership with Songs for Seeds, beginning with a winter kick-off concert and free demo classes for children ages newborn to five.
Named “Best Music Class” by New York Magazine in 2010, Songs for Seeds is a rockin’ music class that encourages kids to sing, play instruments (from drums and guitars to pianos and world instruments) along with a live, three-piece band, as well as dance and move as much as possible. Kids travel around the world experiencing music and language for a new country every week. The band creates well-known nursery rhymes through art and song, does magic tricks as a way to practice numbers and counting and spins the animal wheel to reinforce animal names and sounds. Plus, with two different well-known rock songs played every week, kids will go home singing songs that you like as much as them.
MMAC presents the concert Songs for Seeds on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at 10:30am at the Manhattan Movement & Arts Center, 248 W. 60th Street, NYC (between Amsterdam and West End Avenues). Tickets are $12-15 and are available at http://www.manhattanmovement.com/event/songs-for-seeds/.
