(HOLLYWOOD, CA) – Multi-talented jazz stylist Sid Cohn headlines the renowned Catalina Bar & Grill in Hollywood on Thursday, September 17 .
Cohn – who once had a solo singing role in the Kevin Bacon-starrer film, PYRATES – is also a Theater veteran, having previously performed in “Damn Yankees,” “She Loves Me,” “Fiddler On The Roof” and many more first-class productions, at venues such as the Beverly Hills Theater, Burbank Theater, and Santa Monica Civic Opera..Cohn has also performed in the past at such notable L.A. venues as The Cinegrill; The Gardenia; Vine St. Bar & Grill; and Lunaria’s, among others.
A former Insurance executive, the Ojai-based vocalist released POTPOURRI: A MUSICAL BUFFET in 2006. “I sing the standards, songs from the American Songbook,” explains Cohn. “Mostly in the traditional style, but departing just enough from their original melodies to make them more interesting and enjoyable.” Among the delectable dozen classic tracks on POTPOURRI: “What A Wonderful World,” “Chicago,” “That’s Life,” “Lookin’ For Love,” and “Don’t It Make My Brown Eyes Blue.”
