Middle City Stage Company presents Some Kind of Modern Love
Old-fashioned romance meets newfound dilemmas in Some Kind a Modern Love, a fast-paced new comedy by David Ryan Polgar. (Can also be reduced to its logline, “Old-fashioned romance meets newfound dilemmas.”)
Old-fashioned romance meets newfound dilemmas in Some Kind a Modern Love, a fast-paced new comedy by David Ryan Polgar. Equally sentimental and sarcastic, the play focuses on the trials and tribulations of two highly-opinionated lovers named Daniel and Madeline. Daniel tilts towards being hyper-logical and slightly neurotic, while Madeline is a heart-on-her-sleeve romantic with bouts of jealousy. Do opposites attract or repel? They certainly make sparks. An exploration of finding both meaning and happiness in a modern day relationship, laced with sharp dialogue and keen observational humor.
Produced by Middle City Stage Company and directed by Kelly DiMauro, the show will feature a special musical performance by Suzanne Vick. There is limited seating and the performances will sell out. Reservations are strongly suggested.
Some Kind of Modern Love is a full-length staged reading receiving its première. The play expands on an earlier one-act of the same name that appeared for three nights at The Buttonwood Tree in March 2010.
The play is being directed by Kelly DiMauro and will feature a special musical performance by Suzanne Vick.
