The Maryland Science Center has orchestrated a great kick off to summer with an up-tempo mix of music, dance, food and fun at its annual fundraising gala, Solstice, on Saturday, June 19, 2010. This year’s theme is “Science Swings” as the Maryland Science Center welcomes the acclaimed 18-piece big band, Beantown Swing Orchestra, featuring American Idol finalist John Stevens.

Arrangements also include a moveable feast and signature cocktails on the waterfront, and jitterbugs can Lindy Hop their way through the museum’s exhibition halls which will be open during the celebration.

Tickets for Solstice 2010: Science Swings are $105 for members, $125 for non-members. Non-member guests will receive a three month mini-membership to the museum with ticket purchase.

Dress is upscale-casual. Valet parking will be provided.

Proceeds from Solstice 2010: Science Swings benefit the education and outreach programs of the Maryland Science Center.
