This event is a combination of a potluck picnic and a demonstration of solar cooking, using three different models of solar oven. Never seen a solar oven before? This is your chance.

I'll be cooking some spicy chicken drumsticks, stuffed manicotti and a peach cobbler cake, using just the energy of the sun--no electricity, no fuel, no barbecue fumes, and no mess from the barbie, either.

The three models of solar oven I'll be using are radically different from each other, so you'll see a wide range of solar cooking techniques.

As long as it's a bright sunny day, we'll have time to cook more stuff in the ovens, so if you'd like to bring something to try to cook in one of the ovens, just drop me a note and ask me.

Otherwise, please just RSVP by sending a message to solar_picnic@bayarealinkup.com, letting me know what you'll be bringing to share.

We're expecting about 20 people for this event.

Heather Farm is not a big place, so just look for the Bay Area Linkup sign, the weird shiny boxes, and probably a bit of a gawking crowd.

This will be very fun, and Heather Farm is a very pleasant place. See you there.
