Soldiers of Jah Army, better known as SOJA, released Strength to Survive, their fourth full-length album in 2012 to rave reviews. The album was awarded Album of the Year for 2012 by Reggaeville and featured on iTunes as Best of 2012 List. It's an intoxicating mix of hot-rod reggae grooves and urgent, zeitgeist-capturing themes. The album, produced by John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer, O.A.R.), is the band’s first for ATO, the label co-founded by Dave Matthews.
Over the course of the past few years, SOJA has sold more than 150,000 albums, headlined large theaters in more than 15 countries around the world, generated over 20 million+ YouTube views, amassed more than a 1.6 million Facebook fans, and attracted an almost Grateful Dead-like international fanbase that grows with each tour, with caravans of diehards following them from city to city. Most impressive of all, they've accomplished all this on their own. This 7-piece band has spent the past year and a half grinding it out from venue to venue, playing more than 360 dates, including headlining sold-out tours of North and South America, as well as opening for O.A.R. and sharing stages with everyone from Dave Matthews Band to Matisyahu.
Atmosphere's most recent full-length album The Family Sign was released in 2011 and took the hip-hop group on a wild ride with several nationwide tours, a book, a nearly sold out Rhymesayers European Tour, and numerous accolades from the media for being one of the most successful independent rap groups in the world. In 2012, Atmosphere took to the East Coast in the summer, hit the stage at several festivals around the world as well as worked on new material. The crew of four is showing no signs of slowing down anytime soon after nearly 20 years in the independent hip hop game.
