Join Sir James Galway for an evening of classical and Irish folk music March 4 at 8 p.m. at Jones Hall. Galway, nicknamed “the man with the golden flute,” is widely regarded as both a supreme interpreter of the classical flute repertory and a consummate entertainer. As the most televised and recorded classical artist performing today, Sir James tours extensively and has sold more than 30 million albums. He will be joined by his wife, flutist Lady Jeanne Galway, and Christopher O’Riley, groundbreaking pianist and host of National Public Radio’s popular classical music show “From the Top.” The program will include Irish folk tunes and the music of Poulenc, Widor and Debussy, including “Clair de Lune.”
