Society for the Performing Arts presents the Houston debut of Australian dancer/choreographer Ros Warby and her award-winning solo work "Monumental" on Friday, April 17 at 8 p.m. in Wortham Center’s Cullen Theater.
Monumental is Warby’s latest award winning solo dance work, developed in collaboration with her long standing artistic team, designer Margie Medlin and cellist/composer Helen Mountfort. This work integrates the solo dance form with solo cello, and draws from the iconic symbols of classical ballet – the swan and the soldier – bringing focus to our own sense of strength and dissolution amidst the often irreconcilable tragedies and the sustaining power of beauty in the world today.
Tickets range from $20-$40 and can be purchased online at www.spahouston.org, by phone at 713-227-4772 or at the courtyard level ticket office at Jones Hall located at 615 Louisiana St. Hours of operation: 9 a.m. – 6 p.m. on Monday – Friday and 10a.m. – 5 p.m. on Saturday.
