Social Studies have the electro-clash keyboards and vocals of Ladytron and mixes it with the dark exuberance of Arcade Fire. The Old-Fashioned Way is like the Magnetic Fields with a more impressive back-up band. Pillows are a 2-piece female duo that slides between post-punky, gritty and revved-up electric distortion.
