Date: This group will meet every Monday from May 4th, 2009 through July 13th, 2009
Time: 6:30pm - 7:45pm
Description:
Social Skills Groups are designed to help children learn skills that are important in establishing relationships and maintaining social interactions with peers. The groups are appropriate for elementary through middle school-age children who can benefit from assistance in building and maintaining friendships, including children with learning and attention difficulties.
Children discuss ways of joining groups and dealing with bullying. Additionally, they learn to compromise, make new friends and be assertive. Group leaders act as coaches as they teach participants skills through role-plays, games, and cooperative activities.
