Pool 2.0 is an event happening during SxSW intended to whet the appetite for fun competition within the Web 2.0, Interactive and Social Media communities.
This event is being produced by Social Media Club, the leading global organization of social media professionals and enthusiasts. The organization reaches the leading bloggers, podcasters, social media producers, pr, marketing and web 2.0 professionals, many of whom will be in attendance.
To be emceed by Chris Heuer, Pool 2.0 is a 16 team single elimination 8-ball billiards tournament to be governed by the official rule book (whichever one we have on hand that evening).
Held on Sunday March 15th from 8pm to Midnight at Buffalo Billiards on Austin’s famous 6th Street near the conference center, there will be live music, free beer, media making and a great competition featuring (hopefully) such matchups as WordPress vs. SixApart or Digg vs. Reddit, this event will be a top draw for the evening.
Attendance will be somewhere around 400 people who will be required to register and get a ticket beforehand . Social Media Club members and water drinkers get in free. Wristbands for access to the free beer will be $10 to offset costs.
