Dmitry Orlov presents
Social Collapse Best Practices

Born in Leningrad, author Dmitry Orlov observed firsthand much of the Soviet Union's collapse.

His most recent book, Reinventing Collapse: The Soviet Example and American Prospects, draws out the parallels between the USSR of the '80s and the USA of today, while paying attention to what makes each unique.

Orlov suggests ways to mitigate and adapt to the coming crisis and stresses that change will be inevitable, but that opportunities abound.

The Seminars About Long-term Thinking were started in 02003 to build a coherent, compelling body of ideas about long-term thinking, to help nudge civilization toward Long Now's goal of making long-term thinking automatic and common instead of difficult and rare.

Seminar hosted by Stewart Brand.
